Hello! My name is Claudia, and I teach audiovisual journalism at LCC.
I am also the co-director of a social enterprise called Cobra Collective, which uses participatory video methodologies to empower marginalised groups to tell their stories.
I am very excited to start the PgCert course, as I believe it will be a valuable opportunity for me to reflect on my teaching practices and learn from others’ experiences and theories. Since I moved to London only a few years ago, I also hope this course will help me better understand the UK education system and its approaches. I am particularly interested in learning more about inclusive practices and exploring how to apply some of the methodologies I use with my organisation, such as participatory video, nonviolent communication, and therapeutic photography, within a university environment.
I do have some concerns about the time commitment required, as I recently became a full-time member of staff. However, I am confident I will find the right work-life balance.
